ABOUT
After 20 years as a video game designer, then illustrator on big titles like Assassin's Creed, Spiderman, Guitar Hero, and Borderlands, I wanted to branch out with my own creation, a concept I had in mind for over a decade.

It was first just a quick play on words. Then Animalcatraz blossomed taking inspiration from the open world video games around me during the day and certain board game mechanics I enjoyed playing at night.
Fascinated by prison life, I had long done my homework too, documenting from books, movies etc. A Sandbox type prison boardgame was the obvious direction.

I invested countless hours over many years designing, illustrating and play testing my beastly game, while being helped along the way by seasoned board game creators.

Now with many experienced collaborators to guide me, fulfilling this dream and especially ensuring game fulfilment to you is my utmost priority.
